Design Advantages Tip the Balance in Favour of TiltWatch

There are a number of smart packaging labels available for companies wishing to add an extra deterrent when shipping fragile goods. Damage deterrent specialists, Lamerholm, have considerable expertise in advising companies on the best products to use and are UK distributors for the renowned ShockWatch labels, over 100 million of which have been sold worldwide. Over the years they have been contacted by a number of companies who have been concerned that some tilt monitors have certain design faults that can seriously affect their performance.

Users of tilt monitors need to be confident that the products work adequately for their particular application.” explains Lamerholm’s managing director Ian Robinson. "Our TiltWatch products have been designed with three important basic features not seen on competitors including Tip ‘N Tell labels."

The TiltWatch labels are designed using a non-magnetic steel disc sensor that is immune to moisture ingress and other adverse environmental conditions. This makes TiltWatch ideal for ocean shipments and use in humid environments. By simply removing the adhesive backing, TiltWatch is automatically armed. Due to its design and the fact that the unit is armed from the non-exposed surface, this means that once applied, the unit cannot be reset. This, together with the self stick-backing that assures a permanent bond, even on rough wood surfaces, means that TiltWatch is both tamperproof and non-resettable.

The Tip ‘N Tell uses an arming pin located on the side of the labels that can be easily reinserted or replaced with a similar object. This mechanism also makes the label more susceptible to moisture entering the unit and clogging up the arming mechanism." Ian further explains. “The TiltWatch has also been specifically designed to resist false activations caused by normal jarring of shipment while in transit."

We aim to be more than product suppliers." says Ian. "It is important that our customers understand how our products work so they can select the right product for their particular application. We want them to have confidence in the damage deterrent solution they have chosen."
