Providing state of the art telecommunications solutions is the aim of systems innovator Redwood Technologies. The company, with headquarters in Bracknell, UK and additional offices in Europe, Africa, Asia and the USA, ships its hardware and software around the world and it is vital that this critical, yet sensitive equipment arrives at its destination undamaged and ready for installation.

Rather than leaving anything to chance, Redwood has incorporated a damage deterrent programme into its dispatch process. All consignments leaving the warehouse are identified with a ShockWatch packaging label and photographed showing the impact detection device intact. The ShockWatch labels are simple, yet effective self-adhesives labels that, when attached to goods, indicate when they have been subjected to any bumps, knocks or even if they have been dropped. On arrival at their destination, recipients can immediately see whether any impact has occurred, without even having to open the box. This means appropriate action can be taken and compensation requested from the courier, if the damage is substantial.

Every box that leaves our factory is shipped with a ShockWatch label,” says William Millar, Production Technician at Redwood. “This highlights to our couriers that the shipment should be handled with care and, more importantly, that we are monitoring the situation. Use of the labels has significantly reduced the number of products arriving on site damaged and means we can further improve our efficiency in providing solutions to our customers.”
