e2v gets no shocks on product delivery

e2v technologies is a world leading company, turning advanced technology into groundbreaking products. The company sells into the medical and scientific, aerospace and defence and the commercial and industrial markets. Their products are designed and manufactured at three sites in the UK and shipped throughout the world.

t is the safe transportation of these products that is the remit of Principal Compliance Engineer, Colin Weetch. "Whilst our products are designed to be robust in use, as components and sub-systems that are transported around the world, they need careful handling and protection."

In fact, Colin goes as far as to say that he sees the packaging as an integral part of the product design. He will specify what criteria the packaging has to meet for each particular product.

n order to monitor the transportation of these products, e2v has invested in a number of ShockLog event monitors from Lamerholm. Attached directly to the products, the ShockLog can record when, where and how a shock has occurred.

Using ShockLog is a vital part of the process of safely shipping our products." explains Colin. "We need to know the shock levels products are exposed to on the journey and, with ShockLog software, if shock related damage is suspected we can further analyse the data."

The RD298 Shocklog is a fully programmable, re-usable electronic event data recorder and is used throughout industry to help companies reduce the cost of damage to goods, whether in production, transit or storage.  Packed full of features, the RD298 lets you know when, where and how your product has suffered an event outside preset thresholds and real time date stamping provides detailed arbitration evidence.
