Surface Mount Technology

Our experience in sensor design includes piezo electric accelerometers operating at frequencies down to 0.05Hz and accelerations up to 100,000g. Mathematical modelling based on Matlab and Simulink and Finite Element Analysis software from Parametric Technology and Algor are routinely used in product development. Our in-house PCB design capability encompasses conventional through-hole and multi-layer, fine pitch surface mount.

Design and development tools include:
  • Electronic design simulation - MultiSIM
  • PCB design - Protel
  • General mathematics and simulation - MATLAB, SIMULINK, MAPLE, Mathcad
  • C, C#, C++ and Visual Basic
  • Mechanical SolidWorks
  • Mechanical FEA
  • Case - Select Yourdon

Experience includes:

  • Extensive analogue circuit design for sensor signal conditioning, high speed interface for digital telecommunications testers, precision analogue for signal measurement and sensor signal processing.
  • Many embedded micro-controller designs ranging from 8 bit masked processors to bus based 32 bit floating point DSP.
  • Several automotive controller designs based on a variety of processors for several different target vehicles.
    Extensive digital signal processing experience which include developing algorithms and code using MATLAB, assembler and C.
  • All PCB design is carried out in house and projects range from sensor signal conditioning boards to fine pitch multi layer surface mount.
  • Design of piezo electric, force balance and strain gauge accelerometers and other sensors using mathematical modelling and FEA analysis to optimise designs.
  • Comprehensive Manufacturing Expertise

Lamerholm Electronics range of manufacturing facilities includes Surface Mount and conventional PCB assembly, mechanical engineering, conformal coating and electronic ATE. Shock and vibration, thermal, humidity and pressure testing facilities are all available on site. All these features allow Lamerholm Electronics to maintain rigid in-house control of critical manufacturing processes.
